The story we’re building
Great reading opens a conversation. Thoughtful writing gives a student something of their own to say.
Chapterlark will connect the two—with parent-approved book programs, purposeful writing, and a personal library that reflects each reader’s journey.
Our approach pairs AI assistance with human judgment. The goal is feedback that encourages original thinking, with parents guiding the program and reviewing suggested grades.

Plans & pricing
We’re building three flexible learning paths, with a personal library at the heart of each.
For the joy of reading. A flexible rhythm, optional writing, and room to discover what sparks an interest.
For more intentional practice. Structured reading, comprehension, and writing practice that grows toward analysis and persuasion, with thoughtful feedback.
For a more comprehensive literature journey. Planned coursework, rubric-based assessment, adult-reviewed grades, and optional state-standards alignment.
Pricing, subscription options, and launch timing haven’t been announced. These are learning paths, not confirmed pricing tiers. We’ll share details here when they’re ready.
Before the first chapter
Getting to know Chapterlark.
Chapterlark is a parent-directed, AI-assisted reading and writing platform currently in development for students in grades 1–12. It is being designed to bring literature study, original writing, parent oversight, and a personal student library together.
Chapterlark is for homeschool families and parents seeking reading, comprehension, and writing support for grades 1–12. Younger learners will work alongside a parent, with support adapting as their skills grow. The design supports a range of educational philosophies, including classical and faith-based approaches.
Younger learners will explore books with a parent through shared reading, conversations about stories, and supported writing. Activities will fit their reading comfort and stage of development, with room to become more independent over time. Grade, reading proficiency, and content maturity will remain separate considerations.
No. Chapterlark will focus on parent-supported reading, comprehension, and writing. It will complement your child’s phonics or foundational reading instruction, rather than provide a learn-to-read curriculum. Children can participate in shared reading with a parent while they continue developing independent reading skills.
Yes. You’ll be able to build around supported books you own, review personalized recommendations, or bring a reading list. Paste titles or upload a Goodreads library export, then choose whether to prioritize that list or use only books from it. Chapterlark will check book and edition support before creating assignments and flag unsupported selections for your review. The supported catalog will be announced separately.
AI is intended to assist with curriculum planning and feedback that helps students develop their own ideas. Book-specific instruction and factual assessment will require verified evidence. Parents or educators will review suggested grades. Chapterlark is not being designed to write assignments for students or offer open-ended student chat.
Yes—that is part of the product design. Explore, Enrichment, and Academy are intended to share the personal library and companion experience, with learning progress preserved when a family changes paths.
An optional reading check-in will help you choose a starting point through age-appropriate passages and questions about comprehension, inference, and vocabulary, with parent support for younger learners. You’ll also be able to enter an existing assessment result or skip the check-in. It will offer guidance for planning, not an official Lexile score. Reading comfort and content maturity will remain separate preferences. Listening comprehension during shared reading will be distinguished from independent reading.
Academy will offer optional state-standards alignment, turned off unless you choose it. Select your state, grade or course, and school year to see how assignments connect to the applicable standards, with source references and gaps made visible. This will support your planning; it will not certify compliance or replace a complete review of your educational requirements.
Yes. You’ll be able to download a PDF portfolio with reading history, submitted writing, revisions, and feedback. AI-suggested grades and adult-reviewed grades will be labeled separately, so the record reflects both the student’s work and the adult’s judgment.
Chapterlark is not open for enrollment yet. A launch date, prices, and subscription structure have not been announced. Return to this page for updates as plans take shape.
